Chapter 4

The Rescue

Surrounded by enemies Naruto and Jiraiya were prepared to fight to the death, counting the number of opponents, Jiraiya suddenly formed his hand signs. Him and Naruto disappeared in a puff of smoke and came to a landing in a small clearing in the nearby forest.

“Pervy Sage I thought your arms didn’t work!” Naruto exclaimed.

“Genjutsu.” He stated and a matter of fact.

“Wait! Even on me!”

“Haven’t you heard the saying? To fool an enemy you have to fool a friend.”

“Is that really how it goes?”

“Pretty much.”

“So now what?”

“Fighting is out of the question without knowing the enemies abilities.”

“We have to help Reika!”

“Oh your cute friend.”

Naruto proceeded to punch Jiraiya in the back of the head.

“Ok, ok.” Jiraiya exclaimed rubbing the back of his head. “We have to find a way into that tower.”

A large white tower decorated in stones that reflected the sun stood higher then anything else around them.

“Reika-sama?” Came a knock at a wooden door.

A tall willowy nursemaid with long straight black and dark grey hair entered a small circular bed chamber. With only a large bed, arched window and a vanity the room was slightly crowded. Reika sat starring at her reflection in the long oval mirror unmoving. The maid closed the door behind her and walked forward carefully.

“Semto-sama would prefer you to ware something more appropriate.” She spoke as though talking to a frightened child.

Reika didn’t even bat an eye as she continued to pretend not to listen.

“Reika-sama.” She said a little louder.

Still Reika didn’t move.

“I’ll set the dress here for you.” She said sadly and left the room.

A few minutes later she entered the room again to find the elegant red dress torn to shreds. She sighed and picked up the torn fabric, she stole one last glance at Reika sitting back at the mirror. This time Reika was watching her with cold eyes, under her red eyes the maid could see the fire burning beneath and getting more furious by the second. The nursemaid got scared and ran out of the room, ruined dress and all.

“Well, what happened Shia?” Semto asked the nursemaid who fled from Reika’s bed chamber.

“She did not… Approve of the dress you choose for her.” Shia choose her words carefully.

“How so?”

“She ripped it to shreds.”

Semto pounded on the arm of the chair he sat in.

“Leave my site, NOW!” He shouted. “Oh and make sure she does change.”

“Yes sire!” Shia cried and ran out of the room.

Naruto and Jiraiya snuck into in tower and made their way up the stairs inconspicuous. The necklace in Naruto’s pocket glowed brighter the higher they went. The glowing reached its maximum brightness when they reached a large barricaded wooden door. Jiraiya removed the bar over the door and opened it.

“Reika!” Naruto yelled.

Reika spun on her stool in shock.

“Naruto!” She replied jumping of the stool.

“Come on!” He said handing back her necklace.

Naruto grabbed her hand and pulled her down the stairs, finding the nearest window Jiraiya, Naruto and Reika scaled down the tower. After running back into the forest they stopped to catch their breaths.

“So what’s going on?” Naruto panted.

“Not sure, but I do know that Semto wants this necklace.” Reika replied.

“What is it?” Jiraiya asked.

“I’ll tell you.” Said a voice from behind.

Everyone turned to see Semto standing in the brush behind them.
